Daisy Gets with Technology and Rides the Elevator My freshman or sophomore year, I can't remember, four of my friends and I were in the Meta Glass elevator, early in the evening. It was a routine ride up, just like we always did. Our destination was third floor. Nothing seemed unusual. As we were ascending, the elevator suddenly jerked to a halt. We were all quiet for a moment, and figured that someone was playing a joke on us. No big deal, right? All of a sudden, we heard a strange laugh from outside the elevator. I shouted to the giggler, "Ha ha, okay, thanks for trapping us in here, now let us out." Nothing happened. After a while, we were all starting to feel a little too close to each other and we used the emergency telephone (what a thrill) and we were informed that campus police were on their way. We had been in there for at least fifteen minutes. When campus police finally did arrive, we could hear him telling us that the door was stuck, and that he was using a crowbar to get it open. And when he finally did get it open and we crawled out from he elevator, we were in the attic. There was not a soul up there and so who was it we heard laughing? And as you all well know, you have to have a key to even get the elevator to go up to the attic, which none of us had, and to our knowledge, the attic function was not turned on. Daisy? I think so. < Previous | Student Stories | Next > |
